With a temperature under 80 degrees and not a cloud in the sky, Saturday was a gorgeous day in Gibsonville, North Carolina. Richard and I wanted to relax, but to enjoy the beautiful weather. The Grove Winery and Vineyards in Gibsonville, North Carolina was the perfect day trip for fun and relaxation. This hidden gem is just a few miles from Greensboro, and less than an hour away from Reidsville and Eden. Let’s dive more into the winery, things to do, and of course – their wines!
Gibsonville Grove Winery and Vineyards North Carolina
Grove Winery and Vineyards is near to me in Whitsett, probably ten minutes away if that. Initially, we had heard about Grove Winery when we visited Divine Llama Vineyards a few weeks ago. Divine Llama had told us that Grove Winery often had music and food trucks. This sounded perfect for us! The thing that we were missing at Divine Llama was that they didn’t stay open for long and while it was beautiful and peaceful, it would make a great space on a cool night to grab some drinks with friends. Grove Winery has an opportunity to do just this!
Upon arrival to Grove Vineyards, there were only a handful of people there and outdoor seating was plentiful. On one side of the road is the tasting room with the seating and their vineyards are on the other side.
The tasting room itself looks like a warehouse building and inside is a bar, their wall of wines with a slew of awards and medals for their products, and a restroom. Rich and I started with a tasting, 6 wines each for about $7 or $10 for their Reserves. We chose from a variety of dry whites, reds, and sweet wines. The Traminette I tried as a white dry and their sweet version and ordered a glass of that one to take to sip on the patio. Richard enjoyed their Jug House Blush, which has won multiple awards, and we went home with a bottle!
After our tasting, we took our glasses of Traminette and Jug House Blush and sat in the shade on the large patio area. Here they have a fire pit to use, multiple tables, and two lanes to play bocci ball.
Down the hill, there is a stage and a few chairs where they have live music. We did not stay for this, but it’s great knowing there is an option for when the evenings turn cool. We can grab a pizza, order some wine, and sit around the fire pit listening to music.
Grove Winery and Vineyards in Gibsonville certainly has the credentials, multiple delicious wines, including blackberry and strawberry, and are in a location that offers peace and quiet.
